BIKO’s Mexican-themed bar Cantinero serves a daily plethora of fun with tequila-based concoctions and Mexican tapas inspired by the lively culture, colors and festivity of Mexico. Tucked underground, the space embraces a fresh and casual approach with buzzing energy and blasting música echoing through the room.
“At its core, Cantinero is a bar to eat, drink and just have fun. It’s a place for a get-together after a long day of work. Very casual, very day-to-day. You also will see a lot of groups of friends coming together to party, and that kind of energy naturally carries into what people order and share throughout the night. From tequila and mezcal across a wide range, to Slushy Margaritas and a selection of signature cocktails on a lighter, more playful note, it’s all part of how we introduce Mexican drinking culture in a way that feels easy and approachable, especially for a younger crowd.” said Mikael Mirdad, Founder of BIKO Group.
On top of that, the cantina also puts a strong focus on its kitchen. Helmed by Executive Chef Rafael Basanto—President of the Association of Culinary Professionals Indonesia (ACP)—whose experience spans several BIKO establishments such Duck Down Bar, Beer Garden+ and Beer Hall, the menu highlights a range of Mexican tapas from Taco, Quesadilla and Nachos alongside more substantial platos grandes, including the crowd’s favorite Pollo Asado.
