At Duck Down Bar, Special Mondays have long been our way of starting of the week. It's always packed with high-energy performances that bring the house down. In July 2025, we were thrilled to welcome The Upstairs as the headliner for the night, followed by an electrifying set from Mayhem Extended!
Formed on October 5, 2001, by a group of college friends, The Upstairs has become a cornerstone of Indonesia’s music scene. Their coming to Special Monday marked 24 years since the release of their debut album, Matraman. With this showcase, the band returned to the stage at Duck Down Bar to celebrate their journey and reconnect with the songs that helped shape their legacy.

The show kicked off at 9 PM sharp, and from the opening notes, the atmosphere was electric — some in the crowd even started crowd-surfing! Really, at Duck Down Bar! We've never seen anything like it! The Upstairs launched into their set with undeniable energy, playing 14 songs back-to-back with no signs of slowing down. At one point, the band surprised the audience by handing out roses, a heartfelt gesture that made the night feel even more special. The room buzzed with excitement, the crowd singing along to every word, jumping and dancing from start to finish. After the band wrapped up their set, Mayhem Extended took over the booth and kept the momentum going with an energetic mix that had people staying late into the night.
This was one of those Mondays where everything clicked: a tight set, a packed crowd, and a whole lot of heart. A night to remember, and one we’ll be talking about for a while.
